my very simple kitchen...everybody who comes to my house ask...maybe you should put some bright colors on the shelves...uhhh no i like it white..lol I mix new with old, love vintage floral plates.

about 2 years ago i took out the cabinets and had shelves put in ,my husband wanted to kill me .
the one thing i do not like about this picture is the stove, i wish it were all stainless, the black bugs me so much...waiting for it to break so i can get a new one..lol
this little beautiful bag is from Flora Doora, made for flowers i purchase on Esty Here is her blog if you would like to see her beautiful bags   http://floradoora.blogspot.com/
my sink is large enough to hold a large bucket, had to have that.
After it was all done, he loves it!!  The flowers are for my 5 year Anniversary this Friday, We have been together for 10 years all together... I just love flowers in a bucket!!!

I would love to do the same thing to my kitchen with open shelves. Your home is gorgeous. It really reminds me of Rachel Ashwells lovely kitchen in her latest book.

Happy anniversary.

I am lovin' all those open shelves. Makes a room look so much bigger. I was beginning to think you were a florist with all those flowers in a bucket like I use. Beautiful bright kitchen. ~~Sherry~~

I so love your kitchen. I want to do the same thing to my kitchen. I want to take down my cabinets and put in open shelving. I also want to paint my bottom cabinets white.

honestly the stove is not an eye sore...I think(just me) that the black gives it a lil somethin....I could picture an old sign with faded black lettering.

Of course..this is coming from a gal who really enjoys black...be it my clothing....and various pieces through out my home.....and I m a rusty..chippy..gal not too much into the stainless steel but that being said...YOUR KITCHEN IS BEAUTIMOUS!!!!!

What a beautiful white kitchen you have! I love the subway tile! I agree with Sherri above - I don't think your stove is an eyesore.. but I will send you stove blowup vibes anyway ;) I have a black stove and black fridge. I think my husband would die of a heart attack if I took out our 6 year old cabinets; believe me, I have considered it! Your flowers are so pretty and wow you have bunches of them! ♥

You are so brave. I would love to do the open shelving but I don't think I could keep it organzied enough. I have four teenage boys who are great help with clean up but would never keep it organized. I guess I will wait until I am an empty nester. Thanks for sharing such lovely photos.

I LOVE your kitchen. If I thought it would fly here I would do the open shelves in a heartbeat, but...we live on a dirt road and I would have to dust constantly.
Beautiful!!!

yOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING BUT WHITE WHEN YOU HAVE SUCH A LOVELY HUGE BUNCH OF FLOWERS LIKE THAT!

I adore your kitchen.
I mentioned painting that huge cabinet like yours and you would think I said I was gonna set the house on fire.

I will keep you updated if I get a green light....lol.

Hi again Tausha,
I love your kitchen. We too have a very small kitchen, I used to not like it, now I love it to bits. Guess what? We have a black stove... ick, I'm waiting for mine to break too but I'm thankful to have a stove, heat and roof over my head for certain.

Your kitchen is darling, forget those folks that want you to add bright. No way!

Happy early anniversary. If that bag happens to show up, please post a photo for me, won't you? I haven't been able to get it off my mind (really!). Have a lovely day celebrating 5 years marriage & 10 togetherness.
xoxo

I love the look of your kitchen. Did you get new cabinets, or did you paint your existing ones? So pretty!
Blessings,

i did paint them they were off white.
the good thing is you can still store stuff that does not look that good, on the shelves. Like baby food bowls..lol I love not having all the clutter, and it is much easier picking something of a shelve, and just looking at the beautiful dishes.
It also makes the feeling of the kitchen bigger.

What a pretty kitchen! I would love to take out my kitchen cabinets too and put in sheving, but I don't think the Mister would go for that. I think your stove looks fine, but I know what you mean about things bugging you. Love the flowers in the bucket too :)

I love all the white on the shelves. Color would be distracting. Your stove is not bad. My stove has a black door on it....oh I hate it so much. It came with the house....I can't wait to replace it someday.

Love it...love every room in your house actually! I really wanted open shelving in our kitchen but I just have too much non-pretty stuff to hide...grrrr! ~Deb~

Ah .. my dear a lovely kitchen. It is stylish and it is you. As long as it works this is the main thing. I had a kitchen renovated and there are parts of it that don't so it too is a work in progress.
I see your flowers in the bucket and it takes me back...for me it is the key ingredient of any room.....love it...x

I think there's nothing wrong with the white in your kitchen, I think white is so cool and one won't get sick of it so quickly.

Beautiful kitchen...instead of stainless, have you considered a vintage stove? I think that would be perfect in here!

Your kitchen is beautiful and so is your blog. I found your blog from Na-Da Farm Life and I think it's wonderful. I laughed when you said your husband wanted to kill you because of the cabinets. Mine always gets mad ans says why did you do that. In the end he usualy ends up liking it.
