It all just looks so beutiful.. your home is your inspiration!! In the summer I love more pastel colour around the room so its more shabby chic but I have to be carefull with colour fabrics and decoration because I have a little livingroom and otherwise it would look to crowdy but in your space and with your touches..simply GORGEOUS!!

    Big kiss,

  27. Thank you - I shall youtube then; I have many fabrics.

I sure hope they'll turn out as good as yours. If you sold yours I'd join the long line to buy one too...I have a feeling you won't be able to make them as fast as people will buy them : )

  29. Tausha...everything looks beautiful! Love your home! I have a question to ask you about dyeing fabric....I have a vintage pink prom dress that has some graying on it and nothing will take it out...it is made out of tulle, satin and organza. Can you give me some help? Will these fabrics take dye? I'd sure appreciate your help! My good friend Jo from Vintage Rose Collection told me to contact you about it. My email is stacy@stacysshabbyshoppe.com. I'd love to hear your thoughts!! Thank you! xo

  30. Aqua is my favorite color that and pink but every once in a while I like red! The problem is I find I tire of red but never i never tire of my shabby chic palette. I love the new smoky colors RA is doing like that lavender velvet chair! But I am afraid I might tire of that too! White is a new thing for me and I LOVE it!
Thanks you for your dye recipe..I am going to try it.
One more thing can you direct me to the right type of fabric to buy to make a slipcover? Do you have a online source for a good but durable linen? I have 3 kids so it has to be durable!
Thank you so much Tausha..like all of your commentors you are a inspiration to us! Please post more! Hah

  31. To Lani. I do not for linen....i do you Joannes sells a 10 yard pack of Muslin Fabric which is really beautiful white or creams...and i heard is very durable... RA even uses that type of material... Pretty soon, i will be recovering my white sofa in the living with new fabric, and i may go with that...it currently had Canvas, duck material, to ruff for me even though looks nice, i do not like the feel... and very hard to put back on... Always make the slipcover larger than the sofa measurements... I recovered my chair with Linen Simply Shabby Chic Fabric, and love it...had to cut up the duvet and use that....but its perfect!!! i will soon be in the search for New slipcover material too, i will let you know if i come up with anything... Probably 50% Linen and 50% Cotton... would be perfect ...who knows, not sure....GOOD LUCK!!!

  32. About dying the Vintage prom Dresses, it can be done....the white one i have hanging in my living ....was dingy white when i bough it, i dyed it pale blue, then bleached it back to white, Came out Perfectly... All done in the sink........... Fill up with water and color the gently put the dress to soak, not long, then take out and hang dry...so far i have done this.. but im not afraid to ruin anything....If you are and love it and cannot live without it, i would not do it...lol

  33. Tausha,
I was thinking of doing that too! How many duvets did you need? My chairis similar to yours but I have a large matching ottoman. I was thinking a king and twin could work. Can you post a pic of your chair or email me a pic so I can show my upholster? I am going to look into the muslin...thank you so much! You are so sweet to help me. Maybe your blog name should be simply sweet! Hah
Here is my email if you do not want to have to post.
    Lani@lanielizabeth.com
I know I do not like canvas either! I have a taupe chenille right now but I want something lighter with a slipcover. My 3 year jut took a sharpie to it tonight! I think that was a big sign that I need slipcovers made!
    Thanks again

  35. I just wanted to thank you so much for the tip on bleaching vintage prom dresses. I bleached my white dress with Clorox gel "for laundry" and let it soak for 10 mins, then hung to dry out on the line and it came out spectacular! I have to admit, I was a little scared to try this, but I trust your experience as your frocks always look so clean and beautiful!
    Thanks Tausha~
