i must say, i was so nervous at first, to add the wood floors in oak wood, but after two days of putting things together i do like, i wanted to add a little contrast ....to my all white world.. I Do love my white floors so much, i did keep them in them in my bedroom.. My husband said, well if you don't like you can always sand them, and paint them white!!! here are a few photos, i will have more soon, still working on putting things back together hope you like!!!
I think they are beautiful! And they look perfect with all of your white shabbiness:):)
ReplyDeleteLove your floors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog, decor and photos!

Great floors! i've been working on getting my new floors laid as well!

They are gorgeous! Sometimes a bit of a contrast is necessary, and it looks amazing!!!

Floors look so nice!! A wonderful contrast to your white furniture.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Love it, Love it, Love it!!! ♥♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful. They don't have that yellowy oak look at all...rather a more faded oak look. HOw lucky you are to be able to put real wood in.
ReplyDeleteReal wood or not they are beautiful and like kerrie said the faded oak look is lovely with your home.
ReplyDeleteI really like the look. I think it adds just the right amount of warmth and is "richer" looking than all white floors would have been. Love it- xo Diana
ReplyDelete~Perfection~ They really make your whites pop~Love the side chair slipcover white now too~ xo Rachel

Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are a perfect compliment to the rest of your lovely room!

I think everything you do works!!! And some contrast is always nice with so much white:) Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey are nice, but with the look you have going, they need to either be white, or a little more rough and weathered looking. They look too new, if that makes sense.
ReplyDeletejust my opinion!
This is the same color as my floors, and I love them! Not too light and not too dark. happy medium:)

ps..
great photos as always!
Your beautiful white decor stands out much better with the wood floors. I like the contrast.
ReplyDeleteWell I think I sorta agree with Tonia. A few post ahead of mine. Any how I was wondering did your husband and you build the lounge you are showing and if so how? I have a very large family and in need of more seating but have a vary small budget. Not to mention this past feb I was on the hunt for something but all the furiture stores in my area had nothing I really liked so what you have would be perfect. I can put my own twist with blankets and pillows. Well you know...lol

ReplyDeleteYeah, i wanted to get the floors sanding down, but really there is no gloss on them, i think the lighting makes it look like the are shiny, i would love to beat them up a bit, but im sure in time with children and dogs, they will be there, unfornatley im working with a new home here...lol anyways, in the living room they are two twin beds the box spring and mattress, and a friend built the wood around them, really easy to do, and very comfortably for napping!!! which i often take a little nap on them. the wood is about 12" wide, built to fit around the boxsprings . Thank you so much
ReplyDeleteYour floors are wonderful and they are a nice contrast to all the white in the room. That sofa looks
ReplyDeletedeliciously comfy!
The room looks really nice with those floors.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures remind me of creme brulee done the other way round - soft white above the delicious beige tones... lovely.
Thanks so much for letting me know about your handbag. I die for handbags and have way too many but that not stop me from purchasing more! I am coming to the States in a few weeks time so I shall certainly be stopping off in J Crew for a browse :)
