Sorry i take so many photos, you guys are probably sick of them by now ....but i have not been able to relax lately. Fall has arrived , and really it is not my favorite time of year..  I love Summer time and December are my favorite times of year. I think it is a Florida Thing.
This room is still a work in progress, i have to keep the sofa against the wall so my son does not fly out the windows...both kids run along the top of the sofa daily...drives me crazy!!   i love the look of the down blanket on the sofa...really cozy!!
there's my famous Fifi bag on the counter.
the old shabby chair fits in perfectly
i think books or magazines make the perfect decor in any room
my favorite flower holders, old candles jars and wine bottles, this one is my new favorite..lovely the color which i'm sure you can tell its been in a lot of photos..lol   it's barefoot champagne bottle.
the candles on the books are TubeRose cent, the best soy candles they come with there own pack of matches, really cute!!. You can purchase at Rachel Ashwell's store.   Take care everyone!

Hi Tausha~
First of all, I love your name. I named one of our daughter's Tasha as well! Anyway, just wanted to formally say hello and to tell you how much I enjoy looking at all your pics of your shabbilicious home! Very inspiring to me, as I'm sure you are to so many others. Also, I thought I should tell you that two years ago my husband and I went to Rachel's book signing at Barnes And Noble and we were also lucky enough to actually meet her at her Soho store! She's so sweet and down to earth. Meanwhile, I was terribly starstruck and didnt know what to say. Anyway, keep ythose lovely eye blog candy coming k!

Oh, your home is so dreamy Tausha. I love the elegance, comfort, patina, and softness of it all. I know what you mean about little kids running on the sofa, too. My girl thinks ours is a gymnasium!
Glad to see your blog in the latest Romantic Country mag, and can't wait to see features from Fifi's visits!

You made me laugh about the kids running around the edge of the sofa. Why do kids always pick the most dangerous thing to do with any object!?

Gorgeous photos...

I love that down blanket on the leather couch. Is that a down comforter with a duvet cover or is it really a down blanket? Please, please tell! I love it's ruffly plushness!
Keep the photos coming!

Hi Tausha!

I read that you got your white duvet from urban outfitters...I checked their site, but don't see it in the white...it looks more tan/cream...

I was wondering if you remembered the name or the item number for the duvet?

Also, did your blue ruffle one come from there as well? I think I remember seeing it awhile back on your bonus room bed?

Thanks SO much!

:)

My book came today!! I think it is my favourite one of hers~Cant wait till I see your home in her next book!! ;) xoxo

Simply Me said...

Yes it is a off white one, with a little bleach...lol white I'm not sure about a blue ruffle one, i have a gray one that is ruffled all the way from Urban Outfitters...

How exciting Rachel ~!! I just love it , it is my favorite, because i love different kinds of homes...

To Cindi S. My Christmas decorating is very simple, not over the top...

Great, thanks for letting me know!

You are right, the other duvet is gray, not blue... :)

I found that one on their site as well...

So did you simply soak the off white duvet in bleach for a bit?

Thanks again!

:)

Simply Me said...

yes, just fill up washer with water and bleach let a soak for a little, you will be able to tell if looks white. but very easy looks better white !! I also i this stuff called Snow Cap... which you can buy , you can put it thru a cycle load and put it in with the laundy and takes the white out ! My husband buys for me a Ace Hardware

Lovin your pictures. I find myself looking everyday to see if you have new stuff on. I have the white home too and I love to see new ideas. I have a question, as we speak I am washing my white slipcovered furniture. I am having to wait on hubby to get home to help put them back on. They are impossible. I am putting them on damp cause its supposed to be easier and its not. I am wondering about putting a zipper up the back of the sofa and loveseat. What do you think about that? Im desperate. I makes me hate to wash them and thats a problem since they are white!

Anonymous said...

Wonderful! Thanks for letting me know about bleaching the duvet! Think I will try it!

As always, your home is wonderful!

Have a wonderful weekend!

:)

Wow, I just stumbled upon your blog... "simply beautiful!"

I must ask: where did you find your gorgeous throw rugs?

Thanks!

Simply Me said...

Yes i think a zipper would help, i have the same probably with my white sofa, until i can get a new cover for it, i do the same put it on damp, or let it dry all wrinkly then put it on. I just had a new slip cover made for my chair and she used a zipper on the back and made it one inch bigger..

All my rugs our from Flea markets, or vintage shops .. All beat up already !!

I love all your pictures and would be saddened if you stopped posting them on a regular basis! I ordered the new Rachel book but am still waiting on it I cannot wait to crack it open, the reviews are so all over the board on this one but I love that she has added different elements to her style as she has grown as an artist. Your home looks elegant but in a very causal comfortable lounge with a book way! Love it! Thanks for the visit!

Is your leather sofa vintage?? I lOVE it!
Also what brand are your white sofa and chair?? iKEA? And what brand are the slipcovers??
Thanks for the lovely photos!

Simply Me said...

The leather sofa is from restoration hardware and it looks vintage that how it look when I bought it. The chair is not from ikea. It is an old slipcover chair that was once slipcovered in green. I do have one ikea sofa in my upstairs room which is still a pain in the but with the slipcovers too .

Thanks for answering about the sofas! I have been wondering. I love coming here for inspiration.
Have a Blessed Shabby Sunday! :)

Should have guessed that you would like Tuberose scented candles. My favorite scent! Will totally try the duvet on the leather couch, will help to add a touch of cozy and feminine. We usually have a lap blanket on the couch and move it from end to end for the dog. Something that fits the whole couch will be cozy for all.
